Limitations

What G6 Networks Will Not Provide or Implement

While G6 Networks aims to be a comprehensive solution for global connectivity through the main chain and Polkadot, it is important to manage expectations and clarify certain limitations:

Not all components are fully decentralization on the Private Chains

While G6 Networks promotes decentralization, certain components, such as the customer’s control over their own Private Chains, customer support services and device security updates, involve centralized processes to ensure efficient and timely responses. This allows organizations to act on their own in case of unique needs arise (eg. a group or collective needs to be shut down, or an address needs to be blocked, etc.).

G6 Private Chains scale, but not infinitely

While scalability is a key consideration, G6 Networks acknowledges that unlimited scalability is not a realistic expectation. The product aims to address scalability concerns within practical and feasible limits of the hardware devices and Substrate’s capabilities. Currently a maximum of 90 nodes are set at hard limit on a single Private Chain - this might later increase as we finish more benchmarks and improvements.
